Problem

  • Erosion underneath concrete slab highway  along Interstates 29 and 94 near Fargo, NC was creating settlement that led to uncomfortable, unsightly and potentially dangerous driving conditions
  • Some bridge approaches cause the concrete slabs to drop anywhere from 2 to 4 inches

Solution

  • Inject the fast expanding, high-density TerraThane™ polyurethane below the highway and bridge approach slabs to stabilize, lift and realign the slabs
  • Lift anywhere from 40-80ft of the road to meet each newly lifted bridge deck
  • Work with the TerraThane technical support staff

Results

  • Lifted, Leveled, and stabilized 22 bridge approach slabs with over 120,000 lbs of TerraThane™ 24-486 polyurethane
  • Support from the TerraThane support staff to help in technical and injection approach helped ensure a successful application and project
