Problem

  • Erosion beneath warehouse concrete slab floor causing uneven joints and rocking slabs
  • Forklift traffic travelling over the unsupported slabs caused the slabs to rock up and down and created breaks and fractures called “joint spalling”
  • Rocking and unlevel slabs were causing jolts and bumps to forklifts, leading to falling loads and safety issues

Solution

  • Clean out all joints and remove the debris
  • Inject TerraThane™ 24-003 polyurethane on a 4 ft grid pattern to fill joints, voids and stabilize rocking slabs

Results

  • Stabilized over 130 ft of slabs
  • Work performed to minimize operational interruption
  • Fast cure time ensured the installation locations would be drive-able during the same day as the installation
